So I had a crazy dream last night.  I was living with my mom, in the house she grew up in.  I was wearing a shirt similar to the one above, very 1993, with a long-sleeve, thermal shirt under it.  I was wearing shorts with jeans over them.  Then, two men entered our house, I don’t remember the exact exchange, but they, for lack of a better phrase, took over our house, and kicked us out.

So we were just chillin at the local basketball court with Smokey and a few other people, taking pictures on my camera and the like.  I don’t know what we did that night, but the next morning we went back to the house, despite the apprehension from my mom (obviously this was a dream, no way Moms would just roll over like that).  When we got to the house,  who is there but Jeremy Piven and some scientist guy who looks like Jeff Goldblum, but isn’t.  Piven seems to be the money behind whatever is going on, while not-Jeff Goldblum works away at something in another room.  Piven assured us that they would be done by tomorrow, and that my mom could get another set of clothes, but I couldn’t.

I think he was hitting on her.

I mean, I understand that there’s a certain demographic, or whatever, that they are trying to reach, and I am obviously not part of that demographic, but that doesn’t mean I can’t bitch about how terrible it is.  And boy is it terrible.  I’d like to think that there is a little bit of tongue-in-cheek-ness involved when the #1 song is “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy”, but I’m really not so sure that he’s not completely serious.

Today’s YouTube Thursday video comes with the unbelievable fact that Kimbo Slice is getting mainstream attention, including a network deal with CBS.  The connection with my current environment being that Kimbo is just the kind of guy that I would pick a fight with when I’m drunk.

In the Summer of 2006, I traveled to Europe for the 2006 World Cup. In addition to going to two games in Germany, I visited Spain, France, and Belgium. I (intermittently) posted from internet cafés throughout the continent, touching on a variety of topics, and being throughly politically incorrect.

I recently revisited that blog, and I must say, sometimes my inside-jokes are so inside, I don’t know what they were referring to. Oh well. It’s definitely a fun trip down memory lane regardless. Hopefully I can go back sometime soon…

Today’s mp3 is a song I found while in Europe. I first saw it on a music video channel (I imagine they would not even allow the video in the States), but it was also played in nearly every club I went to. So needless to say this song takes me back to some great times. The ones I remember at least. Video below is not for the kiddies.

Just PURCHASED (yup) the new Lyrics Born CD, and its muy bien. Save an unfortunate journey into Reggaeton (“Top Shelf”), “Everywhere At Once” is a pretty solid album. The fact that some of the worst songs on the album are the singles creates some irony in the message of the song “Don’t Change”, but whatever, it’s still funky as hell.

Other highlights include “Do U Buy It?”, “Whispers” , and “Let Me In, Let Me Out (Remix)”.

Last night marked the end of a six-week volunteer stint with a program called “Community Walls”. This program is run by Hostelling International and is one of their “Opening Doors, Opening Minds” programs. This certain session was run in collaboration with “PODER” at the United Methodist Church in Cornelius. The six-week session focused on what the terms “community” and “culture” meant to the students, who ranged from elementary school to high school. The culmination of the program was a mural created by the students on what they think of when they hear those words.

I joined this program on a whim, but came away very happy that I had contributed. There are very bright futures ahead of these kids, and I can only hope that some of them got as much out of the program as I did. Below are a couple pictures.

I’ve concluded that the second real day of Spring is the money shot. The first day, they are still hesitant about if the sun is really out for good, and you still have lots of jeans and even hoodies. But that second day…

What a wonderful time in my life. I would think, at 20, that my hormones would have at least matured slightly. Apparently I give myself far too much credit.

Here’s the biggest problem: These females dress like they do, and then if you glance (stare) for a second (minute) or two, they get pissed off.

How does that work? If you don’t want me to look, don’t give me something to look at. Hypocrites.
